On October 19, 2018, John Anthony Antonetti, Sr. died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family.

John was married to Norma (Schoen) Antonetti with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 25, 2019.

He was born in New York City, on January 11, 1936, the son of the late Louis & Lena (Gentile) Antonetti. He was educated through New York schools attending Seward Park High School. He was a Korean War Veteran, enlisting in the United States Army Infantry Division 1956 – 1958 stationed at Fort Devens and Served in the Army Reserves until 1963, obtaining the rank of Staff Sargent.  During which time he met the love of his life.

He was married and lived in Lowell until 1963 an attend Lowell Trade School and was employed as a Precision Sheet Metal Mechanic throughout his life.

He moved back to New York and resided there from 1963 until 1973. He was an active member of the College Point Little League; where he was the Director and coached the softball division and served as the baseball minor league player agent.  He also was a member of the College Point Little League Bowling League.

He moved back to Massachusetts in 1973 and resided in North Chelmsford until his death. He was employed with Digital Equipment Corporation and attended the University of Lowell. He was a member of All Saints Church served with the All Saints Caters and was President in 1975.  He coached and was the All Saints Director of basketball for the Chelmsford Church League.  He later became a member of The Church of the Good Shepard in Nashua, NH.  He was a Freemason for 38 years and was a member of William North Lodge A.F & A.M, Lowell Ma.  There he served as Worshipful Master for 3 years.  He was an active member of the Lowell and Boston Council of Scottish Rite where he was a 32 degree mason.  We was an active member of the Alleppo Temple, Ancient Order of the Mystic Shrine, he was an elected officer for 32 years as well as serving in many positions and clubs.  He also was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans.

His hobbies included ten pin bowling, ballroom dancing, and horse racing as well as a lifelong New York Yankee and New York Giant fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, John, Jr & Sharon Antonetti and Anthony Antonetti; 4 granddaughters, Christina & Raymond Morrissey, Jennifer & Michael Bombardi, Kimberly Antonetti & Jimi Eves IV, Rebecca & Joshua Cosgrove; 4 great-grandchildren, Raelyn & Chase Morrissey, Lillian Eves and Kinsley Cosgrove; a brother, Vincent & Nancy Antonetti, Sister in-laws, Gloria Schoen, Phyllis & Sebastian Cavallaro and Joanna Schoen; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Daniel & Janet Antonetti, Virginia & Lenard Pelosa, Louis Antonetti, Jr, Helen Walsh and Mario Antonetti.

ANTONETTI, John A. Antonetti, Sr. of N. Chelmsford, MA died Oct. 19, 2018. Visiting hours Tues. Oct. 23, 2018 from 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Wed at 9am from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Service at 10am at St. John Episcopal Church, Gorham St. Lowell, MA. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
