John Charles Smaldone, 94 of Chelmsford, MA died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, MA.
He was married to the late Sylvia A. Vetrano.
Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late John C. Smaldone and Mildred (Moccia) Smaldone. He graduated from E. Boston High School with the class of 1945.
He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre on board the USS Samar ARG-11.
He retired from Raytheon Corp. of Bedford, MA in 1989. He was the Union Stewart of Local 1505, member of Chelmsford Lions Club and former Scoutmaster of St. Mary’s Church,
Troop 77.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Chelmsford, MA.
John enjoyed music and family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Gail Smaldone of Chelmford, MA, sons Robert and Jean Smaldone of Pepperell, MA and John and Debra Smaldone of Chelmsford, MA, 2 grandchildren Melissa Dulac and Alicia Lawless, 3 great-grandchildren, his sisters-in-law Dolores Ventresca of Medford, MA and Marie Vetrano of Somerville, MA and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William Smaldone.
