John Christopher Cahill, 61, formerly of Burlington, MA and Des Moines, IA, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Community Care Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
Born in Concord, MA, John was the son of Carol (Osborn, Cahill) Kramer of Sumter, SC and the late James R. Cahill.
John graduated from Shawsheen Technical High School in 1978 with a specialty in masonry. After high school he proudly served with the United States Army. Upon discharge, John worked as a mason for several years before his passion for cooking prompted a career change. He worked as a chef for many years in multiple locations.
John was a spiritual person who felt a special connection to Native American heritage, culture and tradition. He spent much of his life crafting Native American artwork. As an avid gardener and nature lover, John felt the most at home when outdoors. You could however find him indoors any time there was a Red Sox, Bruins or Patriots game on. John was a gifted athlete as a youngster and never lost that love of sports.
Besides his mother, John is survived by his sister and her husband Shirley and Michael Guidoboni of Tyngsborough, MA, his brother James Cahill and wife Lori Cahill of Sumter, SC, his brother Paul Cahill and partner Candice Strong of Perkasie, PA, his Uncle and Aunt, Arthur and Laura Osborn of Venice, FL, his nephews Nicholas Guidoboni, Jared Guidoboni, Benjamin Cahill and his wife Cindy Cahill, Joe Cahill and his wife Chloe Cahill, his nieces Amanda Masso and her husband Angel Masso, Jessica Eady and her husband Pernell Eady, Cynthia Crawford and her husband Shawn Crawford, stepson Casey Morgan of Des Moines IA, and first, second and third cousins in abundance.
We miss you John.

John, may you rest in peace. Although I didn’t know you for a long time, the time we had I really got to know you. The laughs we had, serious talks, the amount of pizza, Chinese food, hot dogs and beans that were consumed. Thoughts and prayers to Shirley, Paul and Jim, along with the rest of the family.
