John Henry Purdon, 82, of Billerica, MA died peacefully Sunday February 16, 2025 at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley after a period of declining health.
Born in Somerville, MA, he was the son of the late John H. Purdon and Helen (White)Purdon.
He graduated from Don Bosco High School with the class of 1960. He proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.He owned and operated Purdon Carpet Installations of Springfield, MA.
He enjoyed bowling, boating, horses, dogs, visiting with friends and going on car rides.
He is survived by his daughters Kathleen Bruno (husband Mark Bruno) of Westford, MA, Kimberly Arsenault of Maynard, MA and Kelly Batherwich (husband Robert Batherwich) of Pelham, NH, his five grandchildren Samantha Dolabany (husband Patrick Dolabany), Anthony Roddy Jr. (wife Natalie Roddy), Breeana Arsenault, Isabelle Arsenault, Abbagail Batherwich and his great granddaughter, Aliya Dolabany as well as several nieces and nephews who lovingly knew him as Uncle Bub.
He was the husband of the late Irene (McGrath) who died on September 12, 2019 and
Beverly (Seekins) Purdon who died on August 2, 1992, and Kathleen Plante. He was also the brother of his late sister Helen “Dolly” and her husband Frank Bassett of Perry, ME, and the late Ann Soctomah.

Cousin John so many fun/crazy memories with cousins Jeanne.,Janet, RUthie and I. He always had an infectious laugh and smile for everyone. RIP
