John Lester Reeves, 80, of Westford, MA, died on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.
He was married to the late Constance (MacLeod) Reeves.
Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Lester Reeves and Frances (Shugrue) Reeves.
John graduated from Westford Academy High School with the class of 1962. He went on to serve in the United States Army.
John was a lifelong resident of Westford. He retired from the Westford Highway Department and prior to that he was a police officer for Westford as well as a volunteer firefighter.
He was a member of the Chelmsford Elks, the Stonybrook Sportsman Club, the Westford Kiwanis Club, and the Knights of Columbus.
A pastime that he enjoyed was fishing and frequenting Dunkin Donut’s where he socialized with his group of “Dunkin Friends”.
John is survived by Donna, his partner and fiancé of 34 years; his daughters Carol Ponte and her husband Albert of Pepperell, MA, Linda Romac-Girard of Townsend, MA, and Cindy Desrochers and her husband Gary of Westford, MA; his sister Pauline Foltz of Kent, TX; grandchildren Ryan Ponte and Tyler Ponte of Pepperell, MA, Alyssa Romac of Laconia, NH, Joshua Girard of Fitchburg, MA, Nicholas Desrochers and Benjamin Desrochers of Westford, MA; great-grandson Grayson Hopkins of Laconia, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Margie Wilkinson and Anne Gillette of Brentwood, TN.
