Joseph “Joe” Martell, age 59, of North Chelmsford, MA died Monday July 12, 2021 in Andover, MA.
Joyce Vaughn and Joseph Martell spent 19 years lovingly residing in North Chelmsford.
Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of Carol Perivolotis of Littleton and the late Wilfred Martell.
He graduated from Shawsheen Technical High School in the class of 1980. He proudly served with the U.S.A.F.
He owned and operated Ace Drain in Chelmsford for over 5 years. Prior to starting his own company he worked in the plumbing industry for over 30 years, previously working at All Drains in Dracut.
Joe’s best friend was his dog Sadie – they comforted each other and she always put a smile on his face. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved his Harley Davidson especially during bike week in Laconia. Joe was outgoing to the people he kept dear to him. His idea of a perfect night was grilling on the porch with close friends and family. He, recently, became an avid bird watcher – identifying them and setting up feeding stations and houses all over the backyard. Joe would give the shirt off his back for anybody – he was a generous, selfless, charismatic man with a sense of humor like no other.
Besides his loving girlfriend and mother he is survived by his brother Steve Martell of Quincy, his step father, Tom Perivolotis of Littleton, his very close friend that he shared his home with, Fred Vaughn of North Chelmsford and three stepsons, Fred Vaughn and his wife Andrea of Westerly, RI, Nick Vaughn and his fiancé Samantha Shea of Chelmsford, and Mike Vaughn and his wife Abby of Hudson, NH. Joe is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
