Joyce Mary Saboliauskas of Westford, MA

Joyce Mary (McDermott) Saboliauskas, 80, of Westford, MA died Wednesday, January, 17, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH.

She was married to the late John A. Saboliauskas, with whom she shared 41 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Henry McDermott and Emily (McNamara) McDermott.

She graduated from Lowell High School, Lowell, MA, with the class of 1961. She worked at Cortex of Waltham, MA and the Lowell 5 Bank.

She was a communicant/member of St. John’s Church, No. Chelmsford, MA.

Joyce was a member of the Chelmsford Senior Citizens Widows Club, where she made several friends whose friendship she truly valued.

She enjoyed knitting, many family trips to Disney World, and was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of traveling to Ireland at the age of 70.  More than anything, though, she loved spending time with her family, especially treasuring her role as Nana to her nine grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Jay and his wife Susan Saboliauskas of Groton, MA and Jeffrey and his wife Courtney Saboliauskas of Milford, NH, and her daughter, Jennifer and her husband Vance White of Nashua, NH; her brother, Henry and his wife Judy McDermott of North Andover, MA, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Fennessy McDermott of Rye, NH, brother-in-law Tony and his wife Sara Saboliauskas of Pepperell, MA, and her beloved grandchildren, Alex Saboliauskas, Caleb Saboliauskas, Allison Saboliauskas, Noah Saboliauskas, Caitlin Saboliauskas, Emma White, Cody Saboliauskas, Jack Saboliauskas, and John White.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, many of whom she was proud to have babysat early in life.

She was the sister of the late William McDermott, Joan Griffin, who predeceased her by only three days, and Carol Smith.
