Karen Marie Makara, 61, of Nashua, NH died on Saturday, January 11, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of Eugene Francis and Lorraine (Lefebvre) Makara.
Karen had a fulfilling career as a social worker and volunteered for 17 years at RARA (Recreational Adult Resource Association).
She is survived by her beloved son Eric and his wife Rachelle Makara and their daughter Margo of Highlands Ranch, CO; brothers Leland Makara of Hudson, NH, Eugene Makara of West Virginia, Edward and his wife Heather Makara of Chelmsford, MA, Michael and his wife Candice of North Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Karen is predeceased by her brother David Makara.
Karen’s memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 4-6PM at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST, N. CHELMSFORD 01863 followed by a service at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RARA at raraagency.org.
