Kathleen “Mutsie” A. (Becht) Sullivan of Chelmsford passed away at her home after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was 74, gone too soon.
Kathy was the wife of Henry Sullivan and this month they were to celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary. 58 years of love and devotion.
Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother. Her family was her greatest joy. She was their advocate, their rock, their love. Family celebrations were joyous and frequent at their home in Chelmsford, their daughter’s home in Hudson and their son’s home in Ogunquit.
Over the past several years, Kathy and Henry would winter in Boynton Beach Florida where they would meet a whole new set of great friends. Kathy was an avid golfer and proud of her “hole in one”. She enjoyed bowling, bocce, card playing, shopping, noodling in the pool, time at the beach, her morning television shows and PBS mysteries and most of all dancing, she loved to dance.
Kathy was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1959. She always had an entrepreneurial spirit having started several small businesses with Henry.
Besides her husband, Kathy is survived by her devoted son David of Ogunquit Maine; her loyal daughter Beth and her husband Bob Rallis of Hudson NH; three wonderful grandchildren, Tim and his wife Beth Roussell of Chelmsford, Andrew Roussell of Quincy, and Emma Rallis of Hudson NH; three adoring great grandchildren, Madeline, Patrick and Colin with a fourth on his way, four sisters-in-law Peggy Ofria of Dracut, Aileen McCarthy of Lowell, Barbara Cormier of Dracut and Deborah Nicholson of Manchester and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was the daughter of the late Oscar and Helen “Yaya” (Coomas) Becht and sister to the later Oscar J. Becht. She will be missed but always remembered and loved, always loved.
Visiting hours Sunday from 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Monday at 11 am at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

Dear Henry, My sincere sympathy to you and Beth and David. Always remember how nice your family was living across from us on Grove Street. We felt safe with you there – and ALWAYS loved talking to Kathy with her beautiful smile – what a lovely person! It was nice seeing you both from time to time over the years at different places and you always looked happy. We are all in this thing called Life – never knowing the twists and turns – but we do know our strong Faith, loving Family and loyal Friends are what it is about – and all of these get you through. Stay safe ~ and God Bless..

The world needs more people like Kathy Sullivan. A great wife, mother, grandma and great grandmother and of course, friend. What a loss for all of us. Warm hugs and sincere sympathy to her family. The days ahead will be difficult without her smiling face. When the Sun shines we will know she is trying to smile down on us.
