Kathleen was brilliant, talented, and extremely funny, but most of all she was one of the most excellent people I have ever known. She made me a better teacher and more
importantly, a better person. I send my love and prayers to her family.

Nancy and I will miss our dear neighbor and sister in Christ. We will always remember her joyful expressive nature, She spoke so much with her eyes and joyful tone of voice, always having a friendly word. And, Tom, please be encouraged by remembering God’s word: “Absent from the body, present with the Lord”. Kathleen has a place that Jesus prepared for her. Hold on to that promise. And, may God bless and comfort the entire family for being a part of a life well-lived.

Kathy was such a beautiful person, inside and out. Those of us who were lucky enough to work with her and be her friend know what a loss this is, but we send our strength to her family and friends at this time.

Dear, dear Kathy, she meant so much to my oldest child and was her great encourager and helped her overcome several academic hurdles in her early years. To me, she was one of the joys of my time working at Day School and was one of the people I always missed when I moved on to the high school. A bright jewel in my life treasures, I will keep her sunshine in my heart always. My deepest condolences to all her family.

Thank you Mom for sharing this about Kathy. She was always one of my favorites in school when I needed extra help in, especially in math. I’ve always been hard on myself and she was one of the few teachers who ever truly believed in me when no one else did and when I doubted myself. My love and prayers go out to her entire family.
Mrs. Macdonald, you really did make such a huge impact on me when I was in elementary school as one of her students. Thank you for everything you did for me as a student. Fly high dear friend <3

Kathy- you were a marvelous teacher, you helped Samantha so much and cared so much about her that I give a chunk of the credit to you for where she is now (a CNA and a sophomore scholarship student at a private college). You were so patient and understanding with her and that meant a lot to both of us. Fly high!

It’s with profound sadness that I extend my deepest sympathy to each of you relative to Kathleen’s recent passing. She was one of a kind. Her completion of a centerpiece for our family’s Christmas celebration, creation of an exquisite retirement memory book, book gift when our first grandchild was born, and her highly effective skills as an exceptional Math Tutor are very fond memories. Her work with children at the Norman E. Day School depicted her patience, caring and ability to instill confidence in every student she instructed. Kathleen loved every student she encountered, “no reason not to” was her mantra! From my perspective, as well as observations and opinions of her colleagues and student’s parents, Kathleen’s interactions with everyone was “saintly”. Kathleen influenced our world to be a much better place. May your wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother rest in peace.

I’m truly saddned to hear about Kathy’s passing. I’m in my final year at college and I loved Mrs. Macdonald so so much as a student in elementary school. She was one of my favorite teachers that I would work one-on-one with for extra help in math way back in the day at Norman E. Day School when I attended from 2009-2011. She was a marvelous teacher, full of laughter and always had such a bright spirit. As a student who struggled and doubted myself, she was one of the few teachers I had in elementary school who helped me succeed as a kid. Mrs. Macdonald, thank you for everything you did you for me and the encouragement you gave me over the years. Always patient, understanding, and loving to all your students. Thank you for believing in me when no one else did. You will forever be missed. <3

Im so saddened hearing about the passing of Mrs. Macdonald. She was my biggest influence in elementary school education and got me through great struggles, the touch she left on mine and others hearts were greater than just in the classroom, the year my father passed away she made it a point to reach out to my mother and get in touch again to support me, and after all those years she remembered me and I will forever be greatful for all the lessons Mrs Macdonald taught me. Fly High❤️
Im sending prayers and love to the whole family.
