Kevin Gerard Blanchet, 55, of Tyngsboro, MA, passed away suddenly at his home on January 16, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Lynn Valcourt Blanchet and a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Born in West Islip, NY, Kevin was the beloved son of Frances (Fertig) Blanchet of Smithtown, NY. and the late Charles Blanchet. He grew up in Kings Park, NY, where he graduated from Kings Park High School in 1987. Shortly after, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, an experience that shaped his steadfast character and sense of duty.
For over 30 years, Kevin built a dedicated career with Jones and Frank Petroleum, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. His work ethic, paired with his innate kindness, left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Kevin’s impact extended beyond his professional life and into the heart of his community. A proud member of the American Legion in Tyngsboro, he also found faith and friendship as a longtime parishioner at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Additionally, he was a longtime member of the soon-to-be-closing Atlantis Fitness Club, where he built enduring friendships and shared many laughs.
Kevin’s greatest joy came from the simple, yet profound moments spent with his family. Whether cooking a delicious meal, planning trips to warm and sunny destinations, singing loudly off key, or simply sharing laughter with those he loved, he embraced life with a warm and open heart. He especially treasured time spent with his children, his grandchildren, and his faithful companion, Pumpkin, who often joined him on his many adventures. He had a special bond with his granddaughter Olivia Rose, lovingly nicknamed “O.R.,” whose bright spirit brought him endless joy.
Kevin’s bond with his childhood friends from Kings Park, lovingly known as the “Dead End Gang,” remained strong throughout his life. The memories they created together brought him immense joy and laughter over the years.
Kevin’s legacy of love and generosity lives on in his wife, Lynn Valcourt Blanchet; his children, Matt Blanchet of Tyngsboro, MA, Kevin Deibert of Tyngsboro, MA, Nathan Blanchet of Tyngsboro, MA, and Harrison Roy of Leominster, MA; his daughters, Amberley Deibert of Chelmsford, MA, and Aubreyanna Roy of Lowell, MA; his brothers, Paul Blanchet of Waco, TX, and Chris Blanchet and his wife Angela and their children Lily Rose and Ben, all of Kings Park, NY, his sister-in-law, Barbara Aldrich, and her husband Charlie Harting of Tyngsboro, MA; his brother-in-law Brad Aldrich and his wife Michelle of Dracut, MA; his beloved grandchildren, Olivia Rose Blanchet (O.R.), Kayden Rubert, and a grandson expected in March 2025, and his ex-wife Marybeth Blanchet. He is reunited in eternal peace with his late wife, Anne Marie (Aldrich) Blanchet, who predeceased him.
In honor of Kev’s love for cooking and care for those in need, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the World Central Kitchen. Kevin’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
