Kham Rathsombath of Lowell

Kham Rathsombath, age 68 of Lowell, MA passed away on December 01, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital.

Kham, along with his wife and 3 young children, immigrated from Laos to the United States in 1981.  He dedicated the following years to education and earned an Associate Degree from the American River College in Sacramento, CA.  In 1990, Kham relocated his family to Lowell, MA to begin career as a technician for Analog Devices in Wilmington, MA.  He was extremely hardworking and enthusiastic about his occupation; he proudly dedicated 30+ years  to his job and retired in 2020.

Kham devoted every minute of retirement to his wife, children and grandchildren.  They were his passion.  He is lovingly “Papa” to his grandchildren.  Papa and Mama insisted on caring for their grandchildren and putting off daycare for as long as possible to maximize every opportunity to be with them and watch them grow. To his children, he was the first point of contact when anything in their home/shop broke.  Fixing things for his children was his favorite hobby.  In the past year he was a constant at the family restaurant, Lao de Café, and took care of all things needed ranging from stocking inventory to head chef.

His loyalty and generosity extended to all friends.  They know him for his sweet kindness and gentle smile.  To Kham, his friends were family.

Goddaughter:  Christina Inthirath of Lowell, MA

Grandchildren:  Carsyn and Hazel

Sisters, in-laws, cousins and many nieces and nephews here in the United States and in Laos.

Visiting hours Friday December 10th, 5 to 7 P.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST.CHELMSFORD.

Funeral Saturday December 11th at 12Noon from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST.CHELMSFORD followed by a procession to Merrimack Crematory, 10 Henry Clay Drive, Merrimack NH 03054.. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
