Louis Charles Mechalides Jr., 77, of Tyngsborough, MA passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lowell, MA he was the son of the late Louis C. Mechalides Sr. and Flora (Shanks) Mechalides. Louis was raised in Dracut, MA, where he graduated from Dracut High School with the class of 1964. After high school, Louis served with the United States Army in Korea as a sergeant. Louis owned and operated ACE Express of Lowell, MA where he was a truck driver for over 50 years before his retirement in 2021.
Louis is survived by his son Louis Mechalides of Tyngsborough, MA, his daughter Diana “Dolly” Mechalides of Tyngsboro, MA, his two sisters and their husbands; Paula and Raymond Leavitt of Tyngsborough, MA, Amanda and Normand Bilodeau of Dracut, MA, and his longtime best friend George Williams of Chelmsford, MA. Louis was predeceased by the mother of his children Christina Mechalides.
Louis’s family would like to express their gratitude towards NP Melissa Cullingford at Lowell General Hospital and Dawn Singster who helped Louis’s family with his declining health.

So sorry to hear of Lou’s passing. I worked with him and his Dad back in rhe early 90’s and would still run into him from time to time locally. My deepest condolences to the entire family. RIP Lou.
