Mary Joyce (Buckley) Blackburn, 70, of Chelmsford died unexpectedly in Virginia on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
She was married to the late Brian A. Blackburn, who died on August 2, 2008.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Genevieve Buckley. She graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1963. Joyce earned a B.A. from Lesley College and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston University.
Joyce worked as a manager for Verizon, retiring in 2001.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.
Joyce was the past President of the Chelmsford Youth Soccer. She was an avid Boston sports fan.
She is survived by four sons, Brian Blackburn of Boston, Kyle and his wife, Kristen Blackburn of McLean, VA, Keith Blackburn of Chelmsford and Shawn Blackburn of Worcester; three brothers, Brian and his wife, Marlene Buckley of Lowell, Gary and his wife, Ruth Buckley of Lowell and Kevin and his wife, Donna Buckley of Merrimac, MA; six grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
Visiting hours Tuesday 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford.
