Maria T. Colón, age 71, died suddenly July 1, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late Edward Santos.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico she was the eldest daughter of the late Ramon M. Colón and Miguelina (Batista) Colón.
Maria graduated from Roosevelt High School in NYC.
Maria was a responsible, generous and giving person who dedicated her time caring for her family from a very young age until she was proud mother of her own. Proudly raising her children to be independent, she worked at Catalog Ventures in Chelmsford retiring near the beginning of the Millennium or shortly afterward. Her greatest joy was making sure everyone was safe, fed, and dry.
Maria was a former communicant of the Sacred Heart Church on Moore St. in Lowell.
She is survived by her sister, Marybell Colón and her husband Brad Coffey of San Diego, CA; daughters, Lena Durham and her husband Tiant Durham of Lowell, Cynthia Colón of Lowell; sons, Luis Ferrer and his wife Jennifer of Chelmsford, Christopher Santos of Chelmsford, and Michael Santos and his wife Christine of Pepperell; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a niece and nephew.
Sister of the late Marta Colón , Raymond Colón and Ricardo Colón.
FUNERAL NOTICE
11am Funeral Mass Thursday July 6, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Church 115 Middlesex St. Chelmsford MA 01863. Burial will be private. Maria loved plants over flowers, if you would like to bring flowers please make it a plant
Celebration of Life will follow Church services at:
East End Social Club
15 W. 4th St.
Lowell, MA. 01850 from 12 to 4pm Thursday July 6, 2023.

I am so sorry to hear of Maria’s passing. I haven’t seen her for a long time. Always wished her a Happy Birthday on Facebook. We worked at Catalog Ventures in the call center together. She was great to work with and have as a friend. My sincere condolences to her family.
