Marianne Dorothy Bailey, 67, of Nashua, NH, died Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Merrimack Community Hospice. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Sheehan (Duffy). She graduated from Lowell High School, Lowell, with the class of 1972.
She was employed by Digital Credit Union of Chelmsford and previously worked at Oxford Industries of Concord, MA. Marianne was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua, NH and St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Lowell, MA.
For those who knew Marianne/Mabs/Nana her sweetness was matched with her own brand of humor, feisty, and fight, qualities she brought all the way to the end. She enjoyed shopping for a good deal, going to the seacoast for some fresh seafood, but most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She loved to talk about history, especially WW2 a war her father served in. She fondly remembered her days at St. Margaret’s and the mischief she and her friends created, and in recent years reconnected with the “gang” from the Class of ‘72. We are comforted that she is back with her parents, and late sister Nancy Ford whom she loved so much.
She is survived by son Garrett Bailey and his wife Alyssa of Greenland, NH, daughter Erin Anderson and her husband Danny of Pepperell, MA, three grandchildren Knox Bailey, Hadley Anderson, Hayden Anderson, brother William Sheehan, Jr., his wife Irene of Dracut, MA, brother-in-law Steven Ford of Dracut, MA, three nieces and two nephews, Trisha Ford, Megan Ford, Matthew Sheehan and Mary Beth Vasquez of Dracut, MA and Brian Ford of Hudson, MA.

Marianne, ever since I was a kid I remember the love, guidance, and of course the good humor you showed me. You were a significant part of both my and many childhoods. I remember our last meeting running into each other at the mall, and you were still capable of giving me a good ribbing but also lending your ear. Thank you for all the rides to school, for Trusting me to take Erin to prom, and for just being you all those years on Bolic St. On behalf of Dennis, Sue, Eddy, and I; we love you, may you Rest In Peace always.

Eternal rest grant unto her O’ Lord and may petulant light shine upon her as the angels guide her home. Although I never met her, I hope she knows she did an amazing job raising Erin, who looks a lot like her. Sincere sympathy tomDanny and Erin and the family.

I was saddened to read of Marianne’s passing. I worked with her for many years at Oxford Instruments and she was always ready for a chat and to add her acerbic wit to any topic from local politics to the British Royal family. She provided daily reviews on our cafeteria food, which were almost all bad, and I was never sure why she ate there… A number of our customers told me how much they enjoyed talking to Marianne, pretty amazing considering she would have been calling them to get them to pay our past-due invoice, a task she took on with bulldog-like determination. I haven’t been shopping much recently, but I’m sorry I won’t be running into her at the Outlets or the Mall, perhaps there will now be a good bargain left on the Coach sale rack.
Rest in peace Marianne, it was a pleasure to know you.
