Marjorie Joyce Abbott, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, at the age of 93 at The Atrium at Drum Hill. Born on April 19, 1931, in Catalina, Newfoundland, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Edgar F. White and Jesse (Tucker) White who passed when she was young. Joyce lived with close friends, the Day Family until she moved to Cambridge, MA, at 18 where she met her husband Gordon H. Abbott. Their love story spanned 65 years of raising a family, having adventures and explorations around the globe.
Joyce, as she was affectionately known, had an infectious smile and a laugh that brightened every room. She had a passion for gardening and could often be found sewing, knitting, or baking delicious bread for her community and loved ones.
Her dedication to the West Chelmsford Methodist Church was unwavering, where she crafted hundreds of prayer shawls, baked bread for the church sales, and spread comfort and warmth to all who received them.
Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Abbott (January 30th, 2020), and sister Alma (Brown) Quattrocchi (September 11, 2014). She is survived by her daughters Judy (Ray Green) of Milford, NH, Sandra (Tom Stout) of Freedom, ME, and Kim (Peter Trainor) of Westford, MA. Her memory lives on through her grandchildren Tyler, Jessica, Natalie, Peter, Lea, great-grandchildren Abby, Elizabeth, Lauren, and Caroline, and several nieces and a nephew.
Joyce will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy of love and kindness will endure through the countless lives she touched.

To the family of Joyce, please accept my deepest sympathy. I knew Joyce from church, and will always remember enjoying her most delicious cinnamon bread that she made for the church fair. You had to get there early before they sold out! I also have a Hosta plant that she gave me years ago, and is still thriving. She was a lovely woman and will be missed.
