Mary Anne (Mulligan) Borges, 93, of Lowell, MA, died Friday morning, October 4, 2024 at Life Care Center of the Merrimack Valley in Billerica, MA.
She was married to the late Charles Borges, Jr., who died on August 18, 2020. They celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on March 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James and Cecilia (Daigneault) Mulligan. She graduated from Keith Hall High School with the class of 1949.
She retired from the Capital Store in Lowell and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and formerly St. Peter’s Church both in Lowell. She was a member of the Alpine Squares Dancing Club as well as an avid ballroom dancer.
She enjoyed cooking, crafting, dancing and gardening, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Anne is survived by her children, Gail Borges of Chelmsford, Karen Cross and her significant other, Philip Jean of Lowell, and Susan and her husband, William Moran of Marco Island, FL, three grandchildren, Megan and her husband, Michael Gagnon, Sean Moran and Olivia Tousignant, three great grandchildren, Gavin, Brady and Charlie and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Leo, James and Thomas Mulligan, Loretta Clegg and Esther Francisco.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Mary Anne will not have any visiting hours. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tues., Oct. 15, 2024 at 10am at the Immaculate Conception Church, E. Merrimack St., Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041. I am sorry for the loss of your dear Mom. Losing one’s mother is not easy because she brought you into the world and nurtured you. Please keep her memory alive. She created a beautiful family on Brattle Street.
