Mary (Barron) Partridge age 100 of Chelmsford, MA died Thursday, May 23, 2024 at her home.
She was married to the late Charles E. Partridge who died January 30, 2003.
Born in Lowell, MA on August 24, 1923, the daughter of the late William J. and Mary (Blott) Barron. She was a graduate of Chelmsford High School with the class of 1941, and she attended Lowell Commercial College.
She was a home maker but volunteered for 33 years at the Old Chelmsford Garrison House. Mary was the first coordinator for the Second Grade School Program and the Out of Town School Program at the Old Chelmsford Garrison House. She was also the Copresident of the Garrison House Guild and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Chelmsford Garrison House. She was President of the Middlesex Women’s Club. Mary also volunteered at the Westland Elementary School Library, Mary was once a CCD teacher at St. Mary’s Church in Chelmsford, and was involved with the PTO in Chelmsford.
Mary was a communicant of St John’s Church while growing up in North Chelmsford, MA and was currently a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Chelmsford, MA.
Mary was an accomplished seamstress, baker, knitter, quilt maker, rug braider and made many counted cross stich pieces.
Mary is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Partridge of Chelmsford, MA, Mary Jane Starratt of Lowell, MA, Sarah and her husband, Steve Forman of Chelmsford, MA, Elizabeth Partridge of Lowell, a son, Charles F. Partridge, Jr. of Chelmsford, MA, five grandchildren, Scott Gilchrist of Indiana, Stefanie (Starratt) and her husband Dennis Simmons of Nashua NH, Michael Starratt of Nashua NH, Alex Forman and his wife Faith of Westwood, MA and Marina Partridge of Lowell, MA as well several close friends. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Stella Simmons of Nashua, NH, Logan Gilchrist of Indiana, Kade Gilchrist of Indiana and Eve Forman of Westwood, MA.
She was the mother of the late Martha Gilchrist of Chelmsford, MA.
Mary was predeceased by her sisters Monica Barron, Rita Keane and Anne Kehoe, also her brothers William (Bud) Barron and George Barron.
Mary’s family thanks the staff of Beacon Hospice for their help and compassionate care.

Mary’s funeral services were held privately at St. Mary Church in Chelmsford, MA with her burial in Fairview Cemetery in Chelmsford, MA.
