Mary “Betty” E. (Curtin) Boudreau, 98, a lifelong resident of Lowell died peacefully Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Academy Manor in Andover.
She was married for 55 years to the late Martin R. Boudreau, who died April 15, 1994.
Born in Lowell, Betty was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Curtin. She was educated in Lowell Public Schools, and graduated from Keith Hall with the Class of 1936.
In her younger years, Betty worked in retail for the Harry Bass Department Store of Lowell, and retired from McQuades’ Clothing Store in downtown Lowell.
She was a devout catholic and a communicant of St. Margaret Church as well as a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and the League of Catholic Women. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed her many trips to Hampton Beach.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her son, Richard and his wife, Frances Boudreau of Methuen; daughter-in-law, Eileen M. Boudreau of Millbury; grandchildren, Nancy and her husband, Kyle Oliver of Andover and Martin J. and his wife, Elizabeth Boudreau of Montclair, NJ; a niece, Mary Donlon and her husband, Timothy and her daughter Madeline Mullikin of Anchorage, AK; a nephew, Kevin Donlon of Enfield, NH and four great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Martin D. Boudreau, the sister of the late Catherine M. Donlon, and the aunt of the late Catherine and Terrance Donlon.
Visiting hours Sun. 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral Mon. at 11am from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 12 Noon at St. Margaret Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials may be made in her name to the St. Margaret Church Renovation Fund, 374 Stevens St., Lowell, MA 01851 or to the Hospice Compassus, 790 Turnpike St., Suite 302, N. Andover, MA 01845.
