Mary Gladys Garrigan, 96, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, MA died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at D’Youville Senior Care, Lowell, MA.
Born in Lowell, MA on August 25, 1924 the daughter of the late Alfonse R. Wallace and Anna C. (McEvoy) Wallace, she was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1942 and graduated from Lowell Commercial College with an Associates Degree. She was employed at the Commodore Ballroom in her youth and retired from Wang of Tewksbury, MA. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Chelmsford, MA. She was most proud of her large family that she “loved with all her heart.” She always had a kind word, a warm smile, a cookie and a melody to share.
She is survived by her ten children, Patricia Garrigan of Los Angeles, CA, Jean and Mick Davis of Grapevine, TX, Jo-Ann Garrigan of Hilo, HI, David P. Garrigan, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Anita Clark of Key West,FL, Miryim/Terri and Josh Shortlidge of Melrose, MA, Daniel and Cheryl Garrigan of Lowell, MA
Caroline Garrigan and Ron Allen of Naples, FL and Gigi and Bob Tomchick of Virginia Beach, VA, and Ned and Karen Garrigan of Chelmsford, MA, nineteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and long-time family friend Rick Abbot.
She was the wife of the late David P. Garrigan, mother-in-law of the late Edward Clark, sister of the late Joseph Wallace, Geraldine McAleer and
Eleanor Wetmore and grandmother of the late Elizabeth Tomchick.
Family extends gratitude to the staff members of D’Youville Life & Wellness Community, Bayberry at Emerald Court, and Summit Elder Care for their loving care.
Mary Gladys Garrigan, longtime resident of Chelmsford, MA died Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Visiting hours Friday, January 8, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, Chelmsford, MA.
