Matthew P. O’Clair, 52, of Pittsfield, MA, died Thursday, January 19, 2023, in Lowell, MA, after a long disease. His Family is comforted to know his suffering has ended.
Born in Springfield, MA, he was the son of Paalla (Overgaard) O’Clair of Svelvik, Norway, and the late David O’Clair, of Richmond, MA.
Matthew was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Springfield, MA, with the class of 1988. He spent many years furthering his education and musical passion, online, at the Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA.
Proud owner of his own personal recording studio, Trestle Audio, Matt was an accomplished guitarist, who loved all genres of music, but, especially, classic rock, and, very especially, Pink Floyd. He enjoyed going to concerts and playing, gratis, small gigs for local service organizations.
He was, especially, honored to work at Brien Center, and helped residents and families manage mental health crises to improve their life situations.
He was also an avid hockey and football fan, and enjoyed camping with his good friend, Ben.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Peter O’Clair of Ayer, MA; two uncles, Donald O’Clair and his wife, Jennifer Hylton of Shrewsbury, MA, and Ronald O’Clair and his wife, Linda O’Clair of Manchester, NH; and one aunt, Rondi Saporetti and her husband Eutimio Saporetti, of Littleton, MA.
