Michael S. Chilson, 63, of Lowell, MA died unexpectedly Friday, February 12, 2021 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA surrounded by his family. He was born on August 4, 1957 in Cambridge, a son of the late Ronald Chilson and Jean (Finstein) Chilson. He grew up in Tewksbury, MA having graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School of Billerica, MA with the class of 1975. After graduating from high school, he enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Mike worked several jobs after leaving the Navy. However, he found his true calling when he began starting up his own successful businesses from cleaning services to commerce and finally e-commerce.
Mike was genuinely a selfless, kind-hearted man bringing joy to all he met. He could make anyone smile and always put others before himself. He had a true love of music; playing his guitar and singing his favorite classic country songs. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne R. Chilson of Lowell, MA; son Kenneth D. Burns and his fiancé Nicole Vizzini of Adelphi, MD; daughter, Kelly A. Whitney and her husband, Todd of Lunenburg, MA and two grandchildren, Katelyn Whitney and Ryan Whitney. He is also survived by his brother Randy Chilson of Lowell, MA; brother Gary Chilson and his wife Myrna of Chula Vista, CA; brother Bruce Chilson of Tewksbury, MA; sister Cheri Degloria and her husband Michael of Tewksbury, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Susan Chilson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, Chelmsford, MA. Private graveside services will be held at Westlawn II Cemetery in Lowell, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Michael may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Sending blessings to the Chilson family at this difficult time. I have fond memories of Mike at my parents’ house on Pleasant Street with my brothers so many years ago. He was a sweet, well-mannered boy.
