Mimiko Kim Stevens, 84, of North Chelmsford, MA passed away on February, 28, 2024 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Mimiko, or Kim as she liked to be called, was born February 1, 1939, to Kim Po Kim in Mokpo, South Korea. She emigrated to the US in 1962, becoming a US Citizen on August 16, 1967. She spent time in Hawaii, Texas, Okinawa and Georgia, before settling in North Chelmsford to raise her family while being employed at Raytheon. She proceeded to bring her mother, sister, several brothers, nieces and nephews to the US from South Korea.
Mimiko had many loves and talents including dancing, singing, gardening, and playing the piano, ukulele, and harmonica. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, origami, knitting needle-point stitching and embroidering. Kim made many blankets and clothes for herself and children. She loved cooking, especially her world- famous fried rice and japchae which she was often asked to make for her friends. After retirement from Raytheon, she volunteered at the Chelmsford Senior Center and was active at her Church, North Chelmsford Congregational. She would often give dancing performances and lessons to anyone interested. Above all else, Kim loved to entertain her family in her home on the Holidays and on special occasions.
She is survived by her long-term partner Stuart Kepnes of North Chelmsford, MA, daughter Jenifer Smith and son in law David Hayes of Nashua, NH, son James Stevens and daughter in law Lori Stevens of Timnath, Colorado, and grandsons Jude Stevens and Jack Stevens of Timnath, Colorado, brothers, Jung Bae and Jin An of Los Angelis, CA.
A small graveside service will be held on Monday March 4, 2024 at 11AM at Fairview Cemetery, N. Chelmsford, Ma. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Another Angel has been called back…
Jen, my heart goes out to you and all your family. Even though I didn’t know you Mother I can see how very special she was, loving, caring and a lover of life and all in it. And loved by so many.
