Mrs. Agnes Regina Washington (Nee Commey), 69, of Lowell. MA passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at The Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, MA after a short illness.
She was born in Accra, Ghana to Emma Ayele Hammond and Isaac Quarshie Commey (both deceased). Third born of eight brothers and sisters. Agnes worked in the healthcare sector as an orderly in London, England and also at various healthcare facilities in the US, the last being the VA Hospital in Bedford. She also worked with the defunct Ghana Airways back in the day.
Agnes spent her early years growing up in Ghana. She traveled a lot and lived in London, England before settling in Lowell, MA. She was an active congregant of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in downtown Lowell for over 25 years. In Ghana, She was also an active member of the choir at Saint Maryβs Anglican Church. Palladium, Accra before relocation to the US.
Agnes is survived by her four children: Alfred Nii Allotey Peregrino-Solomon, John Asamoah-Djan, Patience Asamoah-Djan, Gertrude Yankey, and eight grandchildren;
Elsie Dohna Peregrino-Solomon, Elvin Earl Peregrino-Solomon,
Roy Kelvin Arthur, Ciara Asamoah-Djan, Amari-Gracie Sey, Myra-Anne Sey, Logan Asamoah-Djan, Olivia Asamoah-Djan.
Final Funeral Rites:
Wake & Visitation is on Friday, April 5th, 2024 from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Funeral Service Saturday, April 6th, 2024 from 10:15 am – 11:30 am at Saint Anneβs Episcopal Church (8 Kirk St. Lowell. MA 01852).
Interment at 1375 Gorham Street. Edson Cemetery. MA at 12:00 Noon.
Post Burial Gathering at 99 Church St. Lowell. MA 01852 from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am.
Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, April 7th, 2024.
