Nancy Anne Urban, 80, of Arlington, MA formerly of North Chelmsford, MA passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA.
She was born in Haverhill, MA, the daughter of the late James T. Burns and Mary H. (Donovan) Burns.
She is survived by her husband David M. Urban who would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on August 16, 2021.
She graduated from St. James High School of Haverhill with the class of 1959, Merrimack College with the class of 1963 with a BA in English and Cambridge College with a Master’s Degree in Education.
Nancy retired in 2001 from Arlington Public Schools; where she taught English and History at Arlington High School. She previously worked at Pentucket Regional High School of W. Newbury, MA.
She was a past member of First Parish Unitarian Church of Chelmsford, MA. Nancy served on several committees and ministries at the church.
She was a member of Retired Teacher’s Group and Book Club.
She enjoyed travelling, especially Paris and Arizona, going to the beach and spending time with her friends.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Julie Urban and her companion, Kenneth Cuzzi of Arlington, MA, a sister-in-law, Pauline Burns of Conway, NH, a brother-in-law, John Jordan of Concord, NH and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late James and Vincent Burns, Jane Langlois and Patricia Jordan.
Nancy’s visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 9 A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA. Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL. 60601. I am so sincerely sorry for the loss of your mother. It is certainly not easy but you will make it through and know that she will always be with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My sincere condolences to you both. It’s a pain you never forget but you get through it. I shall always remember Aunt Nancy’s humor and adventurous nature. She is with her sister’s and brother’s now having an Irish toast!
