It’s so sad to hear about your demise Aunty Jummy.
I recall like yesterday my visit to Boston area when you and Uncle Ayodel hosted me. A good memory.
May the good Lord grant your soul a rest and give Uncle Ayodele, the children and the rest of the family fortitude to bear this loss.
Your exit is painful. Rest on beautiful soul.

Jumoke, everything stopped suddenly, I was stunned and confused. The warm Ogbomoso weather became so cold. It turned out to be truly and sincerely the saddest day of my life. The only other time I felt this way was when I lost my darling mother over twenty five years ago.
Memories (good and not so good) rushed back. I thought of you and me all night. The joy of migrating to the United States together, the train ride to far Rockaway from Baltimore and Penn station. The early years of struggling and making our home together. The joy at the birth of Olatunde. You were a go getter from the time I met you in Lagos. You set your goals and you went after them and achieved them all.
Death was the last thing I thought of when I thought of you. You were supposed to live long and be grandmother many times over. I haven’t seen you in 28 years but never forgot the woman whose uncle facilitated my journey to America. Jumoke, you are part of my success story. I will pay my respect and mourn alone from afar. I just want to remember you the way I saw you the last time. May your soul rest in peace.
