Patricia F. Magnell of North Chelmsford

Patricia “Murph” “Pat” Frances Magnell, 73, of Chelmsford, MA passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital.

She was the wife of Bruce A. Magnell with whom she celebrated their 51^st wedding anniversary this past June 27^th.

Patricia was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Thomas F. (Jr.) and Patricia A. (Baatz) Murphy.  She graduated from the Robert W. Traip Academy in Kittery, Maine with the class of 1964 and Wellesley College with a BA in History in 1968. She graduated from Tufts University with a Master’s in Education in 1969.

In her early years she taught History and Social Studies at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and at Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School in Lexington.

Patricia became a Real Estate Broker, working at Foster and Foster in Chelmsford and other agencies.  Pat later worked as an exclusive buyer’s agent, which allowed her to provide truly independent advice to buyers. She retired from Buyer’s Choice Realty in 2019. She was a member and past President of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors.

Pat was a Chelmsford Town Meeting Representative from 2006 to 2019.

She was an avid equestrian, and for many years owned and rode horses from her house in North Chelmsford.  She also loved animals, especially her dogs.

Besides her husband she is survived by her brother-in-law Glenn W. Magnell of Cornwall, NY and cousins Janine Murphy, Helen Gundlach, and Catherine, Elizabeth, and James Baatz.
