Peter Raymond Vennard, 81, lifelong resident of Chelmsford, MA passed peacefully Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his residence in Merrimack, NH.
He was married to Catherine (Lyons) Vennard with whom just shared their 40th wedding anniversary this past March.
Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Raymond Vennard and Mary (McSheehy) Vennard.
Peter graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1958 and then continued his education at Fitchburg State College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education.
He proudly served with the Chelmsford Fire Department as a Fire Fighter for 11 years. Peter then worked as a Graphics Arts high school teacher at North Reading High School and Picken Printing in N. Chelmsford, owned and operated Lite Printing, then retired from Red Mill Graphics.
He was a communicant of North Chelmsford Congregational Church.
Peter was a member of the H.E. Fletcher Club, Stony Brook Sportsman Club, Massachusetts Teachers Association, and Chelmsford High School Alumni Association.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, music, model trains, but most of all spending time with is family.
Peter is survived by his wife Catherine Vennard of Merrimack, NH, his two sons, Eric Vennard of Chicago, IL, Tim and his fiancé Juliana Cuomo of Boston, MA, Peters three daughters, Rebecca and her husband Mark Sturzo of Litchfield, NH, Kristina “Tina” Vennard of Hudson, NH and Caitlin and her husband Cormac McGrady of Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland. Peter is also survived by his four grandchildren, Nicholas, Emilia and Anthony Sturzo, and Ryan PV McGrady. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Barry and Suzanne Lyons, Roberta Lacy, Mary Jo and Craig Chandonnet, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Bill Vennard and brother-in-law of the late Coppy Vennard.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Visiting hours will be held Saturday April 23, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD. A private burial will take place at the family’s discretion. A celebration of life will be held at the Princeton Station from 12:00 to 4:00PM on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Peter and Cathy moved next door approximately 1 year ago. Peter had big plans to refresh the flowers and bushes surrounding his home. We enjoyed his humor and fun chats, but he left us too soon. We extend our sympathy to Cathy and the family.
