Philip “Phil” D. Tousignant, 89, of Durham, NH formerly of Milton, NH and Lowell, MA died Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living Facility, Durham, N.H.

He was the husband of Yvette (Dunn) Tousignant with whom he celebrated their 68th anniversary on May 5, 2024.

Born in Lowell on October 22, 1934, he was a son of the late Albert and Rose Tousignant. A resident of Lowell for 65 years, he was educated in the Lowell Public Schools.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army in the Med Det 8th Evac Hospital.  In his early years he worked in the Suffolk Mills in Lowell for 12 years.

Phil worked as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service in Lowell for 28 years before retiring in 1992. After retirement, Phil and his wife Yvette moved to Milton, NH in 1999.

He was a communicant of St. Marie’s Church at Holy Family Parish in Lowell. He also was a member and past president of the Knickerbocker Club in Lowell.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sue Anne Henning and her husband Harald of East Lyme, CT, Lisa Marie Warrington and her husband Wesley of Altamonte Springs, FL and Jane Yvette Dobbie and her husband William of Epping, NH; a son, David Tousignant of Lowell, MA; two sisters, Jeanne (Joan) Cassetta of Lowell, MA and Ann Marie Piekos of N. Chelmsford, MA; six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and their families. At his home on the lake he welcomed, entertained, and loved scores of family members, friends, and neighbors creating lasting bonds and treasured memories.

He was predeceased by his son, Philip R. Tousignant, who died Sept. 30, 2004

Visiting Hours are Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, NO. CHELMSFORD, MA. Funeral Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. from the funeral home at time with a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M, in St. Marie’s Church at Holy Family Parish   90 Chamberlain St. Lowell, MA. Following cremation, burial in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to Victims Inc., 107 Highland St., Rochester, NH 03868.     Best Neighbor you could ever have, always there to help or make you laugh, best 20 yrs of my life was learning from Phil, we planed our camp projects on Mondays when everyone went home , His saying was and i also learned so much from Phil , ( NOTHING NEW AFTER 2,,,And NO MORE AFTER 4 ) I LOVED THAT MAN like my own Father . LOVE YOU PEPE !
