Phoeurk Um, 74, longtime resident of Lowell, MA died Monday, December 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia on November 10, 1946 the son of the late PARENTS NAMES.
He came to the USA in 1981 and became a US Citizen in 2010.
He was a Khmer refugee.
He was a member of the Trairatanaram Temple in N. Chelmsford.
He escaped the Khmer genocide and came to America in September of 1981 with his wife, mother in law and 3 kids. He later than had 7 more kids born and raised in Lowell, MA. He is survived by ten loving children; Tang Phoeurk, Chanra Phoeurk, Saonarith Phoeurk, Sokchenda Phoeurk, Linda Phoeurk, Elise Phoeurk, Sovanny Phoeurk, Jason Phoeurk, Christina Phoeurk, Jonathan Phoeurk. He has 29 grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, watching boxing, playing boule, playing ouk, playing soccer and most importantly was being around his kids.
Visitation will be Friday, December 11 from 2:30 to 3:30 at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., N. CHELMSFORD, MA. His funeral Procession will leave the Funeral Home on Saturday Dec. 12, at 8:00 AM and conclude at Merrimack Cremation Services, 10 Henry Clay Dr., Merrimack, NH. Dear Devaleena, Elise and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Um Phoeurk. He seems to have been a very devoted father and grandfather who found much joy in life in spite of the many challenges he faced. You were lucky to have been so close to him, Devaleena. I’m sure that you cherish many fond memories of your time with him.
