Richard J. Bridgford

Richard Joseph Bridgford, 80, passed away unexpectedly at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston on October 31, 2018, from complications from a fall.

Richard was born on August 5, 1938, the son of the late John and Agnes Bridgford.

He graduated Lowell High School with the class of 1956, and completed certificate courses for clerks at Lowell State Teachers College.

Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and continued his education throughout his career in the Air Force. In his younger years, he worked for B&M Railroad.  He retired from Fay, Spofford & Thorndike of Boston, MA in 1983.

He was a former communicant to Notre Dame de Lourdes Church and St. Patrick Church both of Lowell. He was a friend of the Sacred Heart Monastery in Wisconsin, and a strong supporter to the Jesuit Seminary Guild.

Richard is survived by his brother, John W. Bridgford of Lodi, California.

John was the brother-in-law to the late Connie Bridgford, and the nephew of the late Bertha Healy.

There will be no visiting hours.
