Rita Patricia Waite, 77, of Lowell, MA, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 15, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard “Butch” Waite.
Born in Lowell, Rita was the cherished daughter of William G. Robinson and Katherine I. Reilly.
Rita was a proud graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1965. She dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a respiratory therapist at St. John’s Hospital, Saints Memorial Hospital, and Lowell General Hospital. After 42 years of dedicated service, she retired. Rita was also a former member of the MSRC, NBRC, and AARC.
She was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell. She found joy in spending time at 3 Ponds Campground in Brentwood, NH, where she was a seasonal camper for 28 years. She loved taking trips to Foxwood Casino, particularly enjoying the slot machines. Rita also had a passion for crossword puzzles and dining out with friends and coworkers. She was also known for her dry sense of humor.
Rita is survived by her loving sister, Margaret McKennedy of Lowell, and her devoted nephews and nieces: Daniel Critchett and his wife Kate Critchett, James McKennedy and his wife Robin McKennedy, James Robinson, Michael Robinson, Michael McKennedy and his wife Barbara, Keith McKennedy, Karen Farnum and her husband Michael, Mary Lou McCarthy and her husband John, and Katherine O’Dowd and her significant other Richard. She was also survived by her Goddaughter Cheryl Poitras.
She was predeceased by her nieces Jolane Roy and Colleen Griffin, her brothers William Robinson and James Robinson, and her sister Theresa O’Dowd.
Rita will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Visiting hours Monday, July 22, 2024 from 10AM to 12Noon at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, N. CHELMSFORD, MA followed immediately by funeral service at 12Noon in the funeral home.
