Robert “Bob” Leo Hession, 87, of North Chelmsford, MA passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was happily married for over 51 years to the late Barbara L. (Goddard) Hession who passed away on April 27, 2015.
Born in Boston, MA, Bob was the son of the late Daniel and Catherine (O’Brien) Hession.
Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After leaving the Marine Corps, Bob met his wife Barbara at Mathewson Corporation in Weymouth, MA. He then spent many years of his professional career as an operations manager for Instrumentation Laboratory in Lexington, MA. Bob subsequently owned and operated Video Voyage in Nashua, NH, and spent his retirement years assisting his son Paul with their business, Aquawash. Bob was also an active member of the Massachusetts Treasure Hunting Association.
Bob will be remembered for his love of learning (particularly in the areas of science and business), his eagerness and generosity with his time to help others, as well as his infectious sense of humor. Bob’s quick wit and humor absolutely lit up a room. He was always ready with a joke or a funny story to put people at ease and make them laugh. What Bob enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends. Bob’s passing is a great loss to those who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Bob is survived by his son Paul E. Hession of Merrimack, NH, his son and his wife John R. and Mina Hession of New York, NY, his former daughter-in-law Helen Morrison of Marshfield, MA, his brother and his wife Daniel and Anne Hession of Hanover, MA, his sister Eleanor “Ellie” Reilly of Norwell, MA, his brother Malcolm Hession of Hanson, MA, his three grandchildren, Brittany Hession, Alec Hession, and Anna Hession, his two great-grandchildren, Ayden Douglass and Madilyn Douglass, and his many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late James Hession, Barbara Kelley, Dorothy Bolduc, and Rita Huntoon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that an in-memory donation be made in Bob’s name to the Semper Fi & America’s Fund.
A graveside service for Bob will be held at noon on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery, North Chelmsford, MA.
