Robert H. Gifford
A Good Friend
Robert H. Gifford, a resident of North Chelmsford for most of his life, passed away on August 14, 2022 at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, after an illness of two weeks. Bob was born in Nashua, NH on June 14, 1947, the son of the late Kenneth Gifford and the late Georgianna (Wilcox) Gifford.
Bob worked throughout his life including many years at Merrimack Magnetics in Lowell and then at TJ Maxx on Amherst St. in Nashua before his retirement. He was a member of the Central Congregational Church of Chelmsford and was active in the church for many years.
Bob will be fondly remembered by his fellow residents at Delaney Terrace senior housing in North Chelmsford, where he enjoyed socializing in the lobby and was well-loved.
Bob was predeceased by his brother, the late James K. Gifford, in 2019. Neither Bob nor Jim married or had children. Their closest family was the family of their first cousin, the late Mildred McDonald Whitney of North Chelmsford. Bob and Jim were an integral part of the family and were frequently present, becoming cherished “second dads” to Millie’s son Bill.
Bob is survived by Millie’s son, William Thomas McDonald of Dracut, his wife Flor Thomas, and by other cousins and friends who will remember him with love.

My condolences on the passing of Bob. I was a resident of Delaney Terrace for many years and always enjoyed his company and talking with him in the lobby. He was my “breakfast buddy” as we always sat at the same table at the breakfast group activities.May happy memories comfort you at this time.
