Roger J. Parker, 76, a resident of Nashua, NH and Barefoot Bay, FL passed away Saturday October 10, 2015. He was the husband of Marilyn (Gardner) Parker. They would have celebrated 47 years of marriage in November.
He was born in Gardner, MA on September 28, 1939, the son of the late Frederick and Hazel (Wright) Parker. Roger grew up in Ashburnham and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1957.
He enlisted in the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Navy, he became a field service manager, retiring at age 62. Roger spent his time volunteering in the community including at the Lowell Food Pantry for over 3 years, at the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge group runs for 10 years, and at the WCUMC on committees. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cards and watching the Red Sox.
Besides his wife Marilyn, he is survived by two daughters, Laura Rochon and her husband Edward of Sebastian, FL, Amy Parker of Nashua, NH and a son Roger Parker of Chelmsford, MA, a grandson Ryan Parker, as well as Nicholas and Justin Rochon and a sister, Joan Williams of Georgia. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Roger was predeceased by his brother Roderick Parker.
Roger was a member of the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church, Chelmsford, MA, and he was affiliated with Arlington Street United Methodist Church, Nashua.
Visiting hours Wed. 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Services are Sat. at 11:00 a.m. in the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD,MA. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the Claudia Barr Program P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284

We are the same age but not twins…Mom said poor planning…Dad said new method…,…so very sad at this time…you will be buried on my birthday…..I am sure this year I will age a whole year in a hurry….see you later….rest in peace…….LOVE JOAN

Dear Marilyn, Amy, and Roger Jr, I am so sorry for your loss. Roger was such a wonderful person. Hi Cousin, I am at a loss, we just found each other again a couple of winters ago and now you are gone. I will remember the many days spent rowing around the lake as kids. May you rest is piece old Sailor “May You Have Fair Winds & Following Seas”. Semper Fi from an old Marine.
