Rose A. (Farrell) Greenhalge, 80, of Lowell, MA died Saturday Nov. 8, 2014 at the Northwood Nursing Center in Lowell surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of Robert Greenhalge Sr with whom she celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on July 18. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Jeannette Farrell. She attended the Lowell school system. Rose worked for the Lowell Public Schools in the food service dept. for many years before retiring in 2006 from the Lincoln Elementary School in Lowell. She previously worked at Hoffman’s Furniture of Lowell.
Rose loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards and shopping. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law Debra and Allan Lewis of Chelmsford,MA and Kim and Steve Tardiff of Westford, MA; a son and daughter in-law, Robert and Linda Greenhalge Jr of Lowell, MA;four sisters and two brothers in-law, Aileen and Jim Olivera of Dracut, MA, Patricia Cobleigh of Lowell, MA, Eleanor and Gerald Greenhalge of Dract, MA and Norma Martino of Lowell, MA; four grandchildren, Allan Lewis Jr, Wendy Capozzi, Sarah Tardiff and Stacy Tardiff; eight great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and brothers in-law and sisters in-law.
She was predeceased by her brother John H. Farrell Jr; her brother in-law, Mike Martino; Infant son Kevin Greenhalge who died in 1959; her 34 year old grandson, Timothy Michael Lewis Sr who died Feb. 7, 2012 and her 2 year 10 month old granddaughter, Lorrie Ann Lewis who died May 12, 1975.
