Rose Ann King, 86 – A life long resident of Vero Beach, Florida passed away peacefully March 5th , 2023 in Chelmsford, MA with loved ones by her side.
She was born in Vero Beach, Florida April 14, 1936.
Her parents were Thelma and Stanley Smeltzer of Vero Beach. Her grandparents Betty and George W. Smith were early settlers of Indian River County.Graduate of Vero Beach High School class of 1954. She attended Florida State University. She married Robert E. King December 27, 1957. They started their journey in Scotland as Robert was in the United States Air Force, where their first daughter was born. Later moving back to Florida a second daughter was born. Rose Ann was a loving wife and a devoted mother. She served her community as a Girl Scout Leader, Girl Scout Cookie Chairman, Choir member at Asbury United Methodist Church and a youth group advisor. She volunteered as a school chaperone for field trips. She was a customer service representative at Florida First National Bank. A member of the First United Methodist Church. She was most proud of her two daughters and her three grandchildren whom she loved and cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. King of 63 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Johnson (Brian) and Julie Carter (Douglas). Her three grandchildren Megan Sherman (Erik), Lauren Johnson (Wyatt) and Phillip Carter(Sophie).
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Fred, George, Steve and John.
Until the end she remained an inspiration to us all. She taught us compassion, kindness and love. We will miss her everyday, but will find comfort in knowing she is home with her heavenly father. She will be, forever in our hearts.
Service and Burial will be private. Donations may be made in her honor to your charity of choice in the memory of Rose Ann King.
