Ruth Edna (LeMasurier) Schramm, 67, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away after a battle with lung cancer on June 27, 2015 at home. She was a 12 year survivor of Leukemia (CML).
She was married to Charles A. Schramm with whom she celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in May.
Born in Lowell on February 15, 1948, the daughter of the late George LeMasurier and Eleanor (Sullivan) (LeMasurier) Edge, and the step daughter of the late William Edge. She graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1967.
Ruth was an active member of the North Chelmsford Congregational Church.
She worked for Palm Manor Nursing Home, Kate’s Corner in South Chelmsford, and Town and Country Transportation.
Ruth enjoyed cross stitching, and her summers on Deer Island, in Leonardville, New Brunswick, Canada.
Besides her husband she is survived by, a daughter Lisa St.Gelais and her husband Jonathan of Memphis, Tennessee; a son Charles Schramm and his wife Christina of Loudonville, New York; three grandchildren, Brady St.Gelais, Michaela and Meghan Schramm. She was known as Ma by her grandchildren and all their cousins. She is also survived by a dear cousin Karen Ware, her Aunt Teresa Sullivan, and friends Jean K. and Terry Welsh.
Ruth was predeceased by her sister the late Jean Bear and a very good friend the late Dixie Frye of Deer Island.
