Ruth M.E (Johnson) O’Neil Pickard, 83, of Carlisle formerly of FL and Billerica, died Saturday Sept. 10, 2016 at the Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA.
She was married to the late Theodore Pickard who died in 2006. He was a longtime employee of Eastern Airlines and the Daytona Speedway. She was previously married to the late Robert O’Neil who died in 1970. He was the founder of Burlington Citations Drum and Bugle Corps.
Born in Billerica, MA, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Jenelder Johnson. She graduated from Howe High School in Billerica, MA with the class of 1951.
Ruth retired from the Daytona Beach Housing Dept as an accountant in 1995. She loved NASCAR and became good friends with many of the drivers. She was a resident of Ormond Beach, FL from 1975-1996 and a resident of Carlisle, MA from 1996.
Ruth was a member the Westford Regency Health Club. She enjoyed traveling the world, especially Europe.
She is survived by her son, Robert O’Neil of Merrimack, NH; her brother, David and his wife, Mariette Johnson of Connecticut; brother in-law, Joseph Barger of Carlisle, MA; many nieces and nephews.
Special Thanks to her Westford Regency friends and traveling friends for all of their support and kindness extended to her.
She was predeceased by her sister, Lennea J. Barger and two brothers, Carl Johnson Jr and Paul Johnson.
Visiting hours 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. At her request there are no services. Private burial in Fox Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Ruth was in my Zumba Gold class and she was the heart and soul of that class. She was so full of fun and I appreciated her support and love of dancing. She had a great spirit and she will be greatly missed. My condolences to the family on this sad loss.
