Samnang Chim of Lowell, MA

Samnang Chim, 57, passed away on June 23, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital. Born in Battambang, Cambodia, she was the beloved daughter of Francis Chim and Kolap Sen.

Samnang graduated from high school in Cambodia and emigrated to the United States in August 1983, later proudly becoming a U.S. citizen. She was employed at Lexington Medical in Bedford, MA, and had previously worked at Courier in Westford, MA.

A devoted communicant of St. Patrick Church in Lowell, Samnang was known for her love of gardening, shopping, singing, and watching TV dramas. She was also a talented singer, performing with a band. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family.

Samnang is survived by her son, Sovann Mony of Lowell, MA; her daughter, Sivornne Mony, and her partner, Danny Say, of Lowell, MA; her brothers, Sandet Ung of Providence, RI, and Sothar Chim of Cambodia; one grandson, Jin Say of Lowell, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, who passed away in February 2024, and her sisters, Sivornne Chim and Sochenda Chim.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
