Sandra “Sonnie” J. Martin of Methuen, MA

Sandra “Sonnie” Jane Martin, 82, of Methuen, MA died Wednesday morning, December 22, 2021 at Wingate in Haverhill, MA.

She was married to the late Lewis R. Martin who passed December 12, 2015.

Born in Grafton, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Barlow and Ruth Poling.

Sonnie was a graduate of St. Augustine High School with the class of 1957.

She retired from Cambridge Isotope Labs of Andover, MA.  She was an avid bird watcher who enjoyed gardening.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa and her husband, David Kern of Methuen, MA, a sister, Mary Lou Knotts of Phillipi, WV, a brother-in-law, Richard Johns of Vidor, TX and her three grandchildren, William and his wife, Laura Kern, Richard and his wife, Shana Kern and Gregory Kern, along with 5 great grandchildren, Ashley, Owen, Theo, Sadie, and Wyatt and many nieces and nephews.

Sonnie was the sister of the late Barbara Ann Johns who passed away on November 22, 2021.

MASKS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND WAKE AND FUNERAL.  Her Visitation will be Mon. from 11:30A.M. to 12:30P.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, followed by a funeral Mass at 1:00P.M. at St. John the Evangelist in North Chelmsford.  A private burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.  ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.
