Sokim Chey of Lowell, MA

Sokim Chey, 86, of Lowell, MA passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital. He was married to Chheng Chea for 42 years. Born in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, he was the son of the late Chey Ngoun and Kim Suy.

Sokim spent most of his life living in Cambodia where he worked as an accountant even well into his 70s. He was a very hardworking man who always put others before himself. Sokim made it his job to make sure his family was taken care of.

He moved to the United States in 2017. In his later years, he enjoyed reading the newspaper but above all else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and talking to them on the phone daily. His family remembers him as always having a smile on his face and being welcoming to everyone.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Kouch Youleng, Chey Chamrouen, Sokeng Samnang, Chey Chesda, and his thirteen grandchildren. He was the father of the late Kouch Yousan.
