Hello, my name is Jeffrey Wenzel and I had Sousdye as a student at NHSS for Algebra and Geometry. Sousdye was a wonderful student to have. . . I was blessed to have her twice, both in 9th grade Algebra and 10th grade Geometry. Sousdye was a hardworking student and a sweetheart in class. I love to tell jokes in class, the students know me for my “dad jokes.” Although she was very quiet, I could usually get Sousdye to smile in class with one of my jokes. Even her freshman year when she wore a mask for Covid, I could tell there was a smile under her mask 🙂
I am so very sorry for your loss; this was difficult for me to hear the news yesterday when Mr. Richard emailed the staff. I am a parent of two daughters, my oldest is 15 years old, I cannot image what your family is going through. With much love and support, the Wenzel family is wishing you an infinite amount of hugs, healing, and prayers.

Sousdye, or Vian as I usually called them, was a classmate and friend of mine since Middle School. I first saw them drawing video game characters at a lunch table, and I walked up to them and their friends to talk to them. Those people are now some of my closest friends, and Vian was there along with them. It’s thanks to Vian themselves that I am where I am today, and without them I don’t think I’d be as happy with my life.
They were super creative, and so passionate about their interests, it was nice to see them talk about what they loved. Whether it was a game, or series, or whatever, you hardly meet a person who could love something as much as Vian could. I had a class with them this year actually, and I was so happy to have a class where I could talk to a good friend. It hurts to know that this year, nor any year from now on, will have that sort of fun.
I give my condolences, and I hope and pray that you are all able to recover. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully feel what you are feeling. But no matter what, I will give as much support as I possibly can.
