Thomas V. Cantara of Chelmsford

Thomas V. Cantara, 85, of Chelmsford, MA died surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his home.

He was married to Dawn G. Cantara with whom he would have celebrated their 63^rd wedding anniversary on August 24, 2015.

Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Samuel and Nora Cantara. He graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1948 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute.

He proudly served with the U.S. Air Force during Korean War.

Thomas retired from IBEW Local 103 of Boston in 1992. He had also worked for Manzi of Lawrence.

Thomas enjoyed woodworking and going to Old Orchard Beach, ME. He was a long time resident of Chelmsford.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gary Cantara and his wife, Rebecca Calhoun of Reno, NV, Thomas P. Cantara and his husband, Andrew Syiek of Leominster, MA and Kevin Cantara of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two daughters, Deborah Cantara and her husband, Joseph Dallorso of Ocala, FL and Donna Cantara and her partner, Gary Carlson of Tyngsboro, MA and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Joseph R. Cantara of MI.
