“Weizhi Yu, 69, of Houston, TX passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 peacefully in his sleep in his longtime home in Houston.
Weizhi was born in Beijing, China on April 16, 1955 to Lianchun Chen and the late Qingping Yu.
A member of China’s “Lost Generation”, Weizhi faced many hardships in life but always rose as a leader and pillar of his community and family.
He immigrated to the US in the 90s, where he set up many business ventures and often worked multiple jobs to support his children through university as a single-parent.
Weizhi was a loving father, brother and son. He enjoyed art and sculpting, calligraphy, gardening, and tinkering with his Heritage anniversary-edition Harley Davidson in his early years of retirement.
He is survived by his two children Amy Yu-Khalil and Michael Yu; his three siblings May Chen, Minzi Ruan, and Shenzhi Yu; his mother Lianchun Chen; and miniature Pinscher puppy Bambi.
